Last night was the first time in many months that I slept without a giant amount of anxiety sitting on my chest and weighing on my mind. This is all because I picked up the phone and called Grant Thornton. I was fortunate enough to be connected with Chantel Jeromkin and told her that I wanted to sort out my finances and file a consumer proposal. I told her how much anxiety and stress I was feeling about the whole situation and I was honestly terrified of dealing with my debt. Chantel walked me through the whole thing and helped me every step of the way. She did not judge me and made me feel comfortable facing my financial fears. By the end of the week, we signed my consumer proposal paperwork and I can finally breathe knowing I don’t have to fear creditors garnishing my wages. I was so embarrassed and ashamed to be in debt but now I know I am on the path to cleaning up my finances and working towards my goals.
