Robert is a Partner with at Grant Thornton. While he spends most of his time engaged in corporate restructurings, receiverships and bankruptcies, Robert has a passion for ensuring that the experiences of individuals utilizing the firm's personal bankruptcy and proposals expertise are second-to-none.
Robert is a Chartered Professional Accountant, a Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional and a Licensed Insolvency Trustee. Robert is Past President of the Nova Scotia Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals and sits on the board of the Canadian Association of Insolvency & Restructuring Professionals.
In addition to the years he spent in a financial advisory role with a "big five" accounting firm, Robert has a wealth of experience in the corporate world. He spent over ten years as Chief Financial Officer of an international firm of consulting engineers and Corporate Controller of a public traded company in the communications and transportation sectors. In total, Robert has been involved in many business sectors including engineering, communications, transportation, pulp & paper, retail, fisheries and printing & publishing.
Robert is also a medal winner academically having achieved the Gold medal when he completed his exam to be a Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional and the Silver Medal in Nova Scotia when he obtained his Chartered Accountancy designation.
